A New Title

Firstly, a new title. For a long time, I had not started a blog because I could never figure out an appropriate name. Then I decided, darnitall. I’m doing it. Right. Now. And so came up with the old name. And then. Meh. I thought do I really just want this blog to be all about frugality? I love being frugal. However, it isn’t everything I’m about. It kind of stunted me, in a way. Especially with coming up with appropriate topics. So here you go, a new title.

I will of course be sharing all the things I talked about before, and whatever else I come up with. I am kind of a rambly sort of person. In and out, and all over the place. Some days I just want to share a quick poem, some days a great thrifty find, some days something about cooking, and some days my family, maybe just a photo one day, and so on.

So lately I have been cooking for 6! Which I thought wouldn’t be too much more than cooking for 5…I was a bit wrong. It hasn’t been as easy as I thought it would be, but it is becoming routine.

I love this blog . Tomorrow I am trying the Indonesian chicken in the crockpot. I think I will tweak it a little (of course!) here and there. I’ll let you know how it goes. I love cooking this way on the weekends.

I haven’t been thrifting lately because, well we really don’t need anything! But as usual around here, I am going around the house this weekend and finding stuff to give away. The kids help, and last time Lili let go of 2 bags of what she calls “stuffies”. Since we joined Paperbackswap she loves finding books from her shelf to give away for new (to her) books. She’s my little bookworm.

Last Summer, I had planned to go on a backpacking trip around Crater Lake. Unfortunately, I had some trouble in my right foot as I was training for this trip, and had to bow out. I went to the foot doctor, had a shot and some therapy and Bam! I’m back. So now thinking about a trip for this Summer. WOO HOO! I can barely contain myself! There are a few different places I have been thinking about, so I just have to narrow it down to one. Or maybe I’ll do them all! After staying at a Ritz hotel years ago, and a few other fancy hotels, I have to say that there is no better place in this world to me than out in the middle of nowhere in a tent. I’m ready. Let’s go!

My thoughts and heart are with those in Japan and those with friends and family there.

Come away, O human child: To the waters and the wild with a fairy, hand in hand, For the world’s more full of weeping than you can understand.
William Butler Yeats

Oh, and I must borrow that Yeats quote. Too cool for school, that is!

Yay! So glad you found me. I accidentally deleted a post when changing my name and fiddling with my blog. Of course! I’ve only blogged through Xanga before and it has been years, so I feel like a newbie all over again! Welcome!
